THE SPACE COAST MAVERICKS
The Mavericks Family
The Mavericks Organization was built to be more than just a team or an organization. We were built to be a FAMILY growing in HIS image. This family strives to lead by example on the field, off the field, and in our community. Read below to see how our Mavericks are growing in His image and impacting our community.
MAVERICKS
- ON THE FIELD -
Physical – Mental - Emotional
As kids develop and grow, physical exercise is important to keep their bodies strong and healthy. The calisthenics that our teams do in practice delivers oxygen and nutrients to their tissues and helps their cardiovascular system work more efficiently. The increased blood flow raises the oxygen levels in their body which helps lower their risk of heart diseases, coronary artery disease, type 2 diabetes, and heart attack later in life. The more they engage in exercise through sports the better it is for their physical health. Regular exercise can also lower their blood pressure and triglyceride levels.

Beyond the physical aspect, sports and exercise can helping our kids manage stress. Exercise causes the body to release endorphins, the chemicals in their brain that relieve pain and stress. It is also reducing the levels of stress hormones, cortisol and adrenaline.
Your teen is also developing teamwork skills. Sports is teaching your teen how to work with others and learn how to utilize different players strengths and weaknesses and develop the best strategies to work together to accomplish a common goal.

Finally, most importantly for our organization, our teams focus on the family aspect of life. Knowing that you have someone in your corner throughout life gives you extra confidence through any struggle. Due to the nature of wins and losses involved in playing sports your teen is developing ways to manage and process these constant highs and lows. They are also realizing that they have support, and encouragement anywhere they go.
MAVERICKS
- OFF THE FIELD -
Lifelong friends are good for your health as they can help you celebrate good times and provide support during bad times. Friends prevent isolation and loneliness and give you a chance to offer needed companionship, too. Friends can also:
-
Increase your sense of belonging and purpose
-
Boost your happiness and reduce your stress
-
Improve your self-confidence and self-worth
-
Help you cope with traumas, such as divorce, serious illness, job loss or the death of a loved one
-
Encourage you to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive drinking or lack of exercise
Friends also play a significant role in promoting your overall health. Kids who grow up on travel sports often maintain their friendships through to adulthood. Adults with strong social connections have a reduced risk of many significant health problems, including depression, high blood pressure and an unhealthy body mass index (BMI). In fact, studies have found that older adults who have meaningful relationships and social support are likely to live longer than their peers with fewer connections.
The Mavericks organization has the goal to create the environment where the boys are friends off the field as well as on. Growing the friendships that will last and giving our boys those relationships that will literally last a lifetime.

MAVERICKS
- IN THE COMMUNITY -
There is a lot of work and support needed to get a travel ball team through a season. Our Mavericks team relies on the community to support us in terms of sponsorships and donations to be able to practice, play, and travel. Our team would like to give back to our communities in ways that we can! This season we plan to work on beach and park clean up in our Space Coast, support groups over the Holidays who give back to those who need help during the best times of the seasons, and many other aspects. Our kids are fortunate to be where they are, with the blessings of God bestowed upon them. We want our boys to be able to give back to others, as there is no joy greater than that of giving.
