Matt is a Florida native and was born and raised in the Jacksonville, FL area.  He grew up playing competitive Soccer and Swimming.

He started coaching his first team, a Middle School Swim Team, during his Senior year of High School.

Matt moved to West Melbourne in 2000 after earning BS-EE from the University of Central Florida.  He has also earned MS-ISE from the University of Florida.

Matt began coaching Little League Baseball in 2015 when his oldest son, Logan, started Tee Ball.  He has coached every Little League team Logan has been on since Tee-Ball, including both All-Star Teams, including the 10U team to the State Tournament.

Matt is a member of the Greater West Melbourne Little League Board of Directors and also enjoys Volunteering as a District 2 Umpire for Majors and Juniors Baseball and Softball.

Matt enjoys teaching kids the skills, rules, and strategies of the game, understanding that being successful in baseball is as much mental as it is physical.  Matt not only focuses on the “how” of the game, but also the “why” so that kids start to recognize opportunities for success in every situation.
